Commercial

The government is increasingly requiring – HT customers – to monitor their usage granularly for better energy management (“measure and monitor” is their principle for “Green Building” standards) and all commercial customers will benefit immensely by implementing this much required function.

Real Time Monitoring: Energy demand and usage will be monitored at various levels, at – a) campus transformers, b) DG sets, and c) distribution panels for different buildings. The energy readings, along with a range of power quality parameters (frequency, power factor, etc.) are transmitted in near “real time” at 10-15 minute intervals to a central server, from where the readings can be viewed in ‘easy to monitor’ – graphs – from any computer on the campus.

Detailed reports: are generated showing historical readings, comparison between buildings, etc. Power quality graphs can be used to prevent tripping or equipment damage when unexpected peak loads occur.

Usage Control: NeoSilica’s “Energy Management System” can be used to conserve energy in designated buildings, using university and user policies – and thereby reduce electricity bills. The EMS will be capable of controlling AC and lighting loads based on occupancy, holidays and vacations, environment and dynamic schedules (set by the user or university). These systems should optionally include a Demand Response system to manage peak demands within the campus.
